The 2007-2008 Lego Guards were a community team based in Meadow Vista, California and all of the members were enrolled in the Placer County Office of Education - Independent Home Study school. This club was part of the FIRST Lego League that holds competitions throughout the world (for information see our page here).
This website was maintained by the members, including all content. In fact, the coaches normally only updated the schedule and added pictures that they had taken!

There's a great article about the team in the Sacramento Bee today!

A copy of the article can be seen online here
Today, May 1st, we went to Sierra Community College in Rocklin and were guests of Instructor Bill Cole's "Introduction to Computing" class. We gave demonstrations of our robot and missions and showed them a bit of our programming.

After going through the team's 2500+ photos from the world festival, we've narrowed it down to 20%. A few of those 500+ photos are online already here. We will be putting most of the photos in a gallery soon and will link to it from this article!
Thanks to the team's winning the 1st Place Robot Design - Programming award at the World Festival we've received a bunch of information requests about some of the things that they do.
In particular, the team gets asked about the line following routine that the judges talked a lot about. You can read more information about the team's line following routines here.
The team is back from Atlanta - and look what we brought back with us!
The Lego Guards won the highest award in the Engineering Category: the First Place Robot Design - Programming Award.
We will be updating the website with more pictures, stories, etc. once we get some rest, but until then, the press release we're sending out can be found here.
